No time to do what I really love...

It shouldn't be that way, but it is. I'm too busy. It just seems that I have so much going on at work and in my personal life that I'm too busy to do some of the things that I really love. I always say that it will change but let's face it, it's not going to. Oh well, I do have fun and I have such a variety that I guess it's all okay. I feel like I'm getting to a good point at work and that's helpful.
I'm looking forward to two trips that we are planning in the next two months or so. Going to Florida and to Mexico. I'm very excited!
I need to find time to write my editorial also. I have it in my head and need to put it on paper.
Not much else is new here. I'll try to be better but we know how that goes.

What is Success?
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciate of honest critics and endue the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived;
This is to have succeeded. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Crazy...

I did a very crazy thing tonight. I applied for Grad School. I think I'm ready to take everything to the next level. I hope I can do this while still working full time at my job...even if it takes 2 or so years...

Crazy...I know. :-)

What has happened since we spoke last...

1. We had a wedding in the family.
2. It went beautifully.
3. Finished the Pillar Book
4. Finished the video
5. Coordinated with co-workers a mega successful kickoff.

WOW! Now it's time for me to get back to the art of blogging. I need to get back to my writing. It's time to focus.

Missed ya!

Gone but not forgotten... :-)

I'm a slacker

I have been a bad, bad poster. I've been busy. Busy taking care of everyone and also taking care of myself. I have started an exercise program (p90x) and weight watchers. I've been kind of successful but of course, I have a ways to go.

So that is it in a nut shell. I'm so busy at work that I don't have time for anything else right now. I suppose it keeps me out of trouble though. :-) ttfn

This I know for sure...

You cannot pick your family. Thankfully I have respectful, loving children and a respectful loving husband. :)

HELP!!

I'm working on my editorial for the News-Gazette. Last night between the hours of 1:oo a.m. and 3:30 a.m. it came to me that I should write about 'Second Chances'. I think this opens up a lot of discussion and thought and that it will incorporate my passion which is the community and also day-to-day things that people give a 'Second Chance' to. :-) If you have an suggestions, I'm open to them.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...

If that is the case, then this is the end of my post. But we had so much fun in Vegas and I’m dying to share what we did. (In no particular order)

1. Hoover Dam – where we were cautioned to not use the “L” word. I didn’t get it, it was leak. Also, I didn’t get a dam hat. There was only one option and it was not my look.
2. Motion Rides at the Excalibur – where I hope to work when I retire.
3. Freemont Street – Where the Little River Band played a most awesome concert.
4. Draw Poker – One of my newest fun games that I’m going to perfect before my next trip to Vegas.
5. Pooling it – It takes up part of your day when it’s 100 outside.
6. Massage, Mani & Pedi – Enough said.
7. Mon Ami Gabi – Lunch at my favorite restaurant.
8. Outlet Malls – although I didn’t spend much money, they had good options for shopping that weren’t outrageous.
9. Fireworks at Caesers Palace – They were right when they said they would be the best in the world. These were the best I have ever seen.
10. My ability to come home with money in my pocket. .

No, folks, I didn’t win. I know, most people say they did when they didn’t. I was indeed up at times but being honest, I need to factor in the losses. I did my ‘little’ part to help the economy in Vegas.

People watching is always interesting in Vegas. I think it is one of the best places that I have ever been to truly have the diversity of people in one area. And for me it particularly nice because my husband said to me on numerous occasions, ‘Have I told you I’m glad I’m married to you?’ I hear it more in Vegas than anywhere.

Anyway that is our trip in a nutshell. It was great and I can’t wait to go back. I really prefer to go when it’s hot out because there are many more options.
